Help Support Our Mission

Your contributions to the 2023 Friends of the Passionist Gala will do great work in so many ways.  You will be standing with the Passionists who commit to walking with the hurting in our cities, our churches and in our world.  We especially highlight our commitment to our:

Vulnerable Youth– you will be ensuring retreat programs for youth struggling with faith and meaning, schools serving children in Puerto Rico and Jamaica, WI, the Passionist Solidarity Network which is organizing youth to build a more just world and a more cared for planet. You will assist us as we ensure the development and support of programs like Reconnect NYC and other innovative initiatives. You also join us in educating young Passionists who will carry on the great work of the Gospel.

Elderly Passionists– you will be walking with our elderly and infirmed Passionist priests and brothers who have served their lifetime in this country and in other lands.  We care for them in the Jamaica, New York Monastery and allow them to live in a simple community setting where they can pray, eat, and recreate with their brothers, accompanied by a skilled and loving staff.  We are committed to ensuring that these good men can remain in their home until they go home to God.

Struggling Church– you will be partnering with the Passionists as we create safe and sacred spaces for so many who are struggling with their faith – young and old – and who are seeking to find their relationship with God.  Thousands come to our Spiritual Centers and parishes looking for the compassionate face of God.  We connect millions of otherwise isolated people with a spiritual family through our weekly televised Sunday Mass.  You stand with us as we seek and offer healing, reconciliation, and new life for the Church.

Honoring

Councilman James Gennaro

This year's Gala will be honoring Councilman James Gennaro.

Councilman Gennaro has been a constant friend to the Passionists.  He has advocated for the safety of our elderly men during power outages and other emergencies.  He has supported our outreach to youth, particularly for Reconnect NYC.  Most recently, he has tirelessly worked to assist in the immigration issues of one of young Passonists from Haiti.  Whenever called upon, Jim has stood with the Passonists and all the people we seek to serve.
